Method
- Wash and peel carrots.
- Use a vegetable peeler to slice thin carrot ribbons.
- In a bowl mix olive oil, soy sauce, maple syrup, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and liquid smoke.
- Toss carrot strips in the marinade and let sit 5–10 minutes.
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange carrot strips in a single layer in the basket.
- Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Remove and let cool for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Slice carrots thin for the best crispy texture.
- Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed.
- Watch closely after 6 minutes to prevent burning.
- Carrot bacon becomes crispier as it cools after cooking.
