Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup yellow mustard classic American style
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar packed
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper optional, for heat
  • Pinch of salt

Method
 

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients and whisk until smooth.
  2. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring often for 5–10 minutes. Don’t let it boil.
  3. Once thickened slightly, remove from heat and let cool completely.
  4. Pour into a jar or squeeze bottle and refrigerate. Flavors deepen after a few hours.

Notes

  • Simmer low & slow – high heat can scorch the sugars and mustard.
  • Better next day! Letting it chill overnight enhances depth and tang.
  • Customize the spice level – skip cayenne for mild, double for extra kick.
  • Perfect pairings: pulled pork, ribs, grilled chicken, or roasted veggies.
