Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • cups sharp cheddar cheese grated
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted and cooled

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder in a bowl.
  3. Stir in grated cheddar until coated.
  4. Whisk eggs, buttermilk, and butter in another bowl.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently.
  6. Pour batter into pan and smooth top.
  7. Bake 45–50 minutes until golden and set.
  8. Cool 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Use block cheese for best texture.
  • Don’t overmix the batter.
  • Tent with foil if browning too fast.
  • Let cool slightly before slicing.
