Cheesy Oven-Baked Tacos

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • 10 hard taco shells
  • 2 cups shredded cheese cheddar + Monterey Jack
  • Shredded lettuce diced tomatoes, sour cream (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Stand the taco shells in a baking dish and pre-bake for 5 minutes.
  3. Brown the ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain.
  4. Add taco seasoning + tomato sauce. Simmer 3–4 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle a little cheese inside each taco shell.
  6. Fill each shell with meat mixture.
  7. Top generously with more cheese.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until the cheese melts and the edges crisp.
  9. Add toppings and serve hot.

Notes

  • Shred your cheese fresh for the best melt.
  • Pre-baking shells keeps them crispy.
  • Don’t overfill or shells will crack.
  • Drain meat well to avoid soggy bottoms.
