Ingredients
  

  • Chicken Filling
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup chopped water chestnuts
  • 3 green onions sliced
  • Sauce
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • For Serving
  • Butter lettuce leaves
  • Optional toppings peanuts, sesame seeds, sriracha

Method
 

  1. Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook ground chicken until browned.
  3. Add onion and cook until soft.
  4. Stir in garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  5. Add sauce ingredients and simmer 3 minutes.
  6. Fold in water chestnuts and green onions.
  7. Spoon into lettuce leaves and serve.

Notes

  • Don’t overcook the chicken.
  • Use sturdy lettuce for wrapping.
  • Adjust sweetness and salt to taste.
  • Best served immediately.
